Bsc Health Science (Naturopathy) with Distinction

Bsc Nursing with over 10 years of clinical experience

I grew up as an anxious child with perfectionist tendencies which inevitably morphed into a poor relationship with food and my body. I was plagued with fatigue, acne and skin issues, low mood, anaemia and ultimately, poor self-esteem that seeped into every crevice of my life and limited my ability to really live truthfully and with joy.

Years working in critical care nursing made me realize just how loosely the term healthcare is applied in this industry. I always wanted to be a naturopath and my time as a nurse helped me realize what I had been working towards all along; healing myself and helping others to do the same. Life has since become a series of removing barriers to health to promote joy and vitality.

About

A woman with long brown hair, earrings, and a white shirt sitting at a wooden table, smiling while looking to the right. Behind her, there is a wooden wall with an abstract pattern.

My studies in naturopathy and nutrition has continued to foster a fascination with gut health and diet as medicine. My evolving diet and lifestyle has dramatically reduced inflammation and I consistently have clear skin, clarity of mind, an energized body and a general feeling of contentedness and joy.

It is our birthright to find the joy in everyday, which requires us to thrive in health.

Tia is a degree-qualified naturopath who has been a member of the NHAA in 2025, 2026.

She has also been a Registered Nurse for over 10 years.

The Magic Bean Naturopath

The Magic Bean refers to the curative, therapeutic properties of beans. Soluble fibre is the gut-healing component (along with zinc) of beans that enable the gut and liver to heal and thrive. Got acne? PMS? Waking up at 3am with nausea? Unexplained anxiety? Reflux? Constipation? Your workhorse liver is likely suffering damage from a daily onslaught of toxins that impair liver pathways.

To repair your liver detoxification pathways, bowel function and elimination pathways need to be restored. Insoluble fibre is the broom, and soluble fibre is the mop. Bile is released from the liver and gall bladder to aid with digestion and emulsification of fats, but also contains fat-soluble toxic metabolites of steroid hormones, environmental and dietary toxins that have been through liver detox pathways.

Bile is released into the GIT to aid with digestion and is the final detoxification step. Soluble fibre is critical to bind with deconjugated bile acids so that they can be swept out with the next bowel movement. If the bile acids are not bound and eliminated, they are reabsorbed back into circulation via the portal vein.

The Magic Bean Naturopath was created from years of study, listening to the stories of others and ultimately, healing myself.
