Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change. This policy explains how appointment deposits, cancellations, rescheduling and refunds are handled at The Magic Bean Naturopath.
1. Appointment Deposit
A 50% deposit of the appointment fee is required when you book an appointment.
The deposit secures your appointment time and is applied toward the total cost of your consultation.
The remaining balance is payable in accordance with the payment arrangements communicated to you when booking or before/during your consultation.
2. Cancelling or Changing an Appointment
If you need to cancel or change your appointment, you must do so more than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time.
You can cancel or request a change through the booking system or by contacting The Magic Bean Naturopath.
We encourage you to provide as much notice as possible so that the appointment time can potentially be offered to another patient.
3. Cancellations or Changes Within 24 Hours
If you cancel or request to change an appointment less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time, a cancellation/change fee equal to 25% of the total appointment fee will apply.
As a 50% deposit has already been paid:
25% of the total appointment fee will be retained as the cancellation/change fee; and
the remaining 25% of the total appointment fee will be refunded to you.
For example, if your appointment fee is $200 and you have paid a $100 deposit, a late cancellation would result in a $50 cancellation fee being retained and the remaining $50 of your deposit being refunded.
4. No-Shows
If you do not attend your scheduled appointment and have not contacted us beforehand, the appointment will generally be treated as a late cancellation.
The 25% cancellation fee will therefore apply, subject to any circumstances in which it would be inappropriate or unlawful to apply the fee.
5. Rescheduling
If you reschedule an appointment more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time, no cancellation fee will normally apply.
If you request to reschedule less than 24 hours before the appointment, the 25% late cancellation/change fee will apply.
A new appointment may require a further deposit or other payment arrangement.
6. Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that unexpected circumstances can occur.
At our discretion, we may waive or reduce a cancellation/change fee where there are exceptional circumstances.
Examples may include significant illness, emergency circumstances or other circumstances that make it unreasonable to expect you to attend or provide the required notice.
Providing evidence of the circumstances may be requested where appropriate.
7. Refunds
Where a refund is due, it will generally be returned using the original payment method where reasonably practicable.
The time taken for a refund to appear in your account may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
8. Practitioner Cancellations
If The Magic Bean Naturopath needs to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we will contact you as soon as reasonably practicable.
Where we cancel an appointment and you do not wish to reschedule, any deposit paid for that appointment will be refunded.
9. Products and Treatment Orders
Where you have separately purchased products, treatment preparations or other goods, cancellation and refund arrangements may depend on whether the order has already been processed, prepared, dispatched or supplied.
Any applicable refund rights will be considered in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law and any applicable product-specific terms.
Shipping costs may not be refundable where an order has already been dispatched, except where required by law.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws.
Where the Australian Consumer Law provides you with a right to a refund, cancellation or other remedy, those rights continue to apply regardless of this policy.
